I picked up (no pun intended) a Honey Picks Casein pick in the Jade color, Hornet shape, medium size, with the multi-hole grip and standard bevel, and I have to say, I’m really impressed.
Casein is often talked about as a great alternative to tortoise shell, particularly among acoustic guitar players, but what surprised me most is how much I enjoy it on my electric guitars.
There’s something about the feel of casein against the strings that is noticeably different from the usual picks I’ve used. It has a smooth, warm character that makes playing feel incredibly natural.
The multi-hole grip is something I have now always add as a feature and is a great touch. It gives the pick just enough texture and security without making it feel overly aggressive or uncomfortable. The Hornet shape has become my favorite, it also feels very well balanced in the hand, and the medium thickness gives me a nice combination of control and flexibility.

What I really like though, is the overall warmth and feel. The pick seems to soften the attack just enough to give my electric guitar playing a more rounded, organic quality. It doesn't feel dull, it just has a different character than the typical synthetic picks I've used.
I originally bought it knowing casein had a reputation as a tortoise-shell alternative, but I ended up discovering that I really like what it brings to my electric guitar. It feels almost old-school in a good way, it's smooth, comfortable, warm, and surprisingly expressive. The Jade color is just gorgeous. It looks as good as it feels.

I'm very happy with this pick. It has definitely earned a permanent place in my rotation, and I can see myself trying more casein picks from Honey Picks in the future.

I don't use many picks anymore, but when I do, I use Honey Picks. Love repping the brand so I got the mug.

I really like starter packs like this because they give you some options you probably wouldn't consider otherwise. I wouldn't have looked at the Pollinator, but I really like it. It has a very soft tone that I actually like a lot.

I got the above pick and it was hands down better than a similar pick that was $40.00. Don't sleep on this material just because it's the cheapest. Dark, fat, warm jazz archtop tone.

I asked for Richlite picks, right bevel, 2.0 thickness, holes. No, Honey Picks doesn’t stock them. But bingo, one week later Honey Picks made them for me. I like Richlite for its warm tone, and I’m surprised that more people don’t use them.

Rick and Andrew worked with me patiently to dial in a shape and particular tip I’ve been wanting. It came out killer and I’m very grateful. These guys are full time now! How crazy is that?! 💪👌

You still get the quality and craftsmanship you've come to expect from Honey Picks, and a really cool conversational piece.

I’m really liking this pick, especially the shape. I’ve been using a 2mm small Honey Bee (Casein) and I think I’m switching to a small Hornet. It sits better in my fingers and I’m liking the more rounded tip.

I love this shape! I have a bunch of boutique picks from various brands and I find myself reaching for the honey jar 3mm more than any pick in my arsenal. Beautiful work, packaging and customer service…

Ultem always seems to give a brighter tone and this one falls into that category. Mine is the large triangle with holds and a right-hand bevel in 1.25mm. Fashioned perfectly, easy to hang onto, looks very cool and plays/sounds fantastic. I now have more Honey Picks than any other manufacturer (and that is saying a lot, lol…I have an obsession for sure). Once again, great pick from a great company!

New player here. I have always loved fordite. This pick is great! Grip is perfect with the holes. Will return for more!

My new Riggs Taylor Signature Honey Pick showed up last week, and I've had some good time with it. I went with the Kirnite Black Ice in Honey Bee Medium, 2mm.

Really like the feel of this one. The custom bird logo Riggs came up with is a beautiful touch too. Definitely one I’ll be keeping in the rotation.
